There's only one shepherd and I can assure you he is completely heartless.

Is it just me or cant you give rep points to the same member in different threads? What is the deal with that?

    Daily Reputation Clicks Limit
How many reputation clicks can a user give over each 24 hour period. = 10 per day

    Reputation User Spread
How many different users must you give reputation to before you can hit the same person again. = 20

You're probably running into one of those rules. There isn't anything limiting reps per thread.

20 seems like a lot, for someone like me that comes in and cleans house all at once. You might consider letting mods rep when they want to.

    Question Re: Reputation System Details

I just found someone has given me a negative reputation point. Don’t know why, don’t know who left it. Is this the way you intended this program to work? How many people can I give negative reputations to a day? I post in the forums almost everyday since I came here. I know I am new and have had to adjust my posting to fit within the rules. This is a great place to exchange information and get advice, but I don’t want to be hassled by people leaving me negative feedback for no reason or because they just don’t like my post. I hope you are able to address my concern.

    Re: Reputation System Details

FreeWebDesign.....Welcome to the pariahdom of the negative rep. Apparently I earned my red badge of shame by disagreeing with the "heartless" shepherds". Suddenly a very useful tool in my life has become another source of rejection

Once this forum, was open for free discussion. Now free speach has a price, one I am not willing to pay. I knew this was the end of the usefullness of this board. It has become a fashion show now. I expressed an opinion outside the "favorable" view point, I paid the price.

I will try and vote you out of the red though Free

So long and thanks for all the fish

Craig—thanks for your support. I love this forum because of the wealth of knowledge everyone has. There is no possibly way for one person or firm to know everything so I get tons of advice and tips here. Yes, some of the advice is simply STUPID but that’s part of the game.

I was accused of self promotion, “He is whoring his company and website” is the comment left with the negative feedback. I assume its because I have a signature like everyone else, including the person who left negative feedback. I think the Forum God’s should monitor this reputation system a little more closely. I am an active poster and give as much feedback as possible. I have been involved in web design and SEO since 1998 so I have experience.

Look at Ebays reputation system. It actually holds weight, so negative feedback is only used in a severe instance. There isn’t much penalty here for negative feedback. I guess some folks have thin skin!

Thanks again for your support Craig. If there is anything I can do to help you, please let me know!

    Re: Reputation System Details

I don't see either of you with a negative rep at this point... so I'd say the system is working as intended. Isolated good reps or bad reps won't impact you either way in the long haul.

    That's kind of the point.

    Re: Reputation System Details

The reason why I don’t have a negative reputation rank is because I have had positve “votes” so I am at 0! There needs to be some type of criteria to give negative points. The person who gave the negative feedback should be known, just like Ebay. Just my 2-cents.
