    Quick question about "Fresh Content"

Ok, I hope this is a quick question and we get some good feedback.

When dealing with the "fresh content" issue, and your site sells something, how fresh can you make that content?

Question, for Gozizzile and Yahizzle purposes, if I (or someone) was to just change around the text and graphics on the page say once a week, would that constitute "fresh content"? For example, use the same words but just move a few paragraphs to different parts of the page. Today its paragraph one, next week that becomes say paragraph three.

I am not trying to be black hat Bart but I cannot change my content. A piece of body jewelry is a piece of body jewelry…

    Your thoughts are encouraged.

You should not change all the time the content of your pages. If you want to create fresh content, you better add new pages. A better option would be to create a blog.

But as I see you are concerned about Google, and I would like to ask you why do you want fresh content anyway? The only profit you have from that is, that Google will crawl your site more often, and not to improve your rankings.

I dont feel fresh content has much to do directly with rankings. Continuous fresh content creation is not so much the key with Google (it helps in-directly), but continuous in-bound link acquisition is!

Adding the "fresh" content is not the key, but the fact that your adding more content that can help your website become more of a resource to your end visitors is what counts. Freshness does not, just want to clarify.

Thanks Jaan and Web. I just keep reading about freshness. I need my site to back on the first page. There might be other issues at play. But if my jewelry line does not change too often (just how many things can I hang from a nipple?.. OK QUIET NOW, SETTLE DOWN!) :) why would google come back to crawl me? And is the crawl important to rankings?

We have added other "items", toys, shavers, just to add content. so you guys are saying that is better than to just change up the exisiting pages?

And we added a blog. www.nipplecharms.com/wordpress and I am trying to figure out how to change the wordpress to something like Body-Jewelry w/o trashing the whole blog.

    thanks all!

No changing around existing content does NOT help. Adding new content can because of what I said above.

Yes getting a blog up and running and posting some nice pictures, interesting posts or even controversial ones will help.
