    Second - Third Level Pages

Hi all, haven't been around for a while, sorta busy etc. Which is good.
Anyway a quick question, my main page http://countryjoe.bizland.com or http://countryjoescollectiblestuff.com (same page)is ranking pretty good for a bunch of keywords anywhere from #1 to third page, mostly top 10 - 15 spots. Not a problem because I'm up against ebay and several big online antique and collectible malls. But holding my own. Problem is my second and third level pages, searching for products on them unless I search for specfic phrases, they are sort of buried many pages deep if the they show at all. Like page 20 -????. I have lots of internal links to pages, my own site maps and am using Google site maps.

One more quick question, does using Google Base help any in rankings or is it just another link to my pages?

    Thanks, Country Joe

If your selling product I would imagine the second and third pages have product on them so as you said they only rank well if it for specific phrases. So just target specific phrases on them pages. It works for us.

    Hi, Steven
Yeas they are product pages, the second level pages have approx. 50 different products on them with descriptions, prices, shopping cart link etc. The third level page would have larger pictures, descriptions, prices, shopping cart link etc. Not really worried about the third level pages. But getting the second level pages more exposure is the problem. I deal in small antiques and collectibles and have about 5000 different items. Can't get them on on the first page. But I have links to catagory pages and those are what need to get spidered. I do list a certain amount of individual items the on the front page and those names will come up in a search until I add new items and move the older ones off.
Will look into targeting specific items.
    Thanks, Country Joe

Hi Steven, just took a look at your site, we are basically in the same game, different products but lots of items in many catagories. Hope you don't mind if I peek behind the scenes and see if I can find anything that I may be able to use.
    See ya, Country Joe

So your talking about pages like:

    http://countryjoe.bizland.com/store/hangers-01.html

    ...not ranking?

You need to get some links pointing to these pages besides just your home page:

    1. Links from your blog
    2. Links from other internal pages from your website
    3. Links from other peoples websites, blogs, forums, etc.
