    What about this?...

It's not really fair to say some of these things about Google...because think about it.. Goggle is going to have more links than these smaller Search Engines... so of course more people are going to use their service before a smaller Search Engine... Oh!!.. and about their "Placements" Check out how long I've been with Web Pro World... since like July of last year.. and I'm still considered a "Newbie"... most other people who have just been in since the begining of this year are already "Veterans".. so woould you say that Web Pro World is biased against how many posts you have posted.. as compared to how long they've been in??... Alright that'll be enough out of my mouth for today!! ha ha...

Considering you have only two posts under your belt I would consider you a newbie.

If I were getting my blood taken I can assure you I am going with the nurse that has pricked over 100 patients versus the nurse who has only pricked two

    Newbie ?

Could well be the program, that turns off the 'Newbie' Tag after so many posts.

But the last post did remind of many years ago when I got a jab from a student nurse, she screwed up and the supervising nurse got quite peeved, In the students panic she grabbed my arm and kissed it better. (best nurse of all time) 1965 Bristol England Sandra Weekes. **WOW Flashback**

I am a newbie, I havn't fully mastered html yet, but I still like to say my piece, even if it is sometimes totally 'beside the point' or 'off track' This is a forum. . We should rightly have a mixture of old young, wise silly, intelligent and dumb, Newbies and Oldbies, and me, and you!

I know, I know. But why should one perfectly good member have 'Newbie' posted up against their name.
I suspect one could find someone out there that was sensitive enough about their portrayed image to get upset about it. (I realise the posting that mentioned this was just making a passing comment)

I have the Hide of a Rhino, You could post "resident wanker" next to my posts, and not bother me.

I am not sure why the number of posts is displayed anyway. . It is probably the cause of many "waste of time messages' being posted. (Is there some prestige in the number of posts made?) I would prefer to see a 'voted usefulness' rating. But on reflection that would require some complicated configuring as I think htmlforums tried it, and half the editors ended up with a minus score...

P.S. I wonder why they bleeped an everyday Autralian Word.

Well Steven, if I get pricked getting my blood pressure taken...hmmm...not sure I should take this much further. Definitely would go for the experience though.

Here comes the voice of reason :-)

Forums are communities, not just information resources. If they weren't, there wouldnt be any information for people to read.

Rank is decided on in the construction of the forums. "how many posts before first ranking", and so on. This benefits two fold:

    1. Members are encouraged to participate & help the community grow
    2. Other members can see that this member is a participator in the community.

Communities take time to forge. This one has done that in a very short time relatively speaking. Which has all been done by 'contributing' members. To join up in July and only have 2 posts credited 8 months later, and one of those was a complaint... shows that this person is still a newbie to our 'community'. It shows no heirachy apart from that. And the ranking progresses from there. Until a Moderator thinking that you are a 'valuable' assett to community, and suggests you for MVP.

Sometimes they can consist of worthless posts to make a good impression, but for the majority...I think that most are valued participating members.

Hope this helps with the confusion :-)

    Mislead...

O.k.. Everyone seems to have taken my words differently and not understanding what I meant by them.. I was merely trying to make a point about Google and their "Ranking" system... And by you all saying that you all would rather get "Pricked" by a nurse who has pricked someone 100 times as compared to 2 times adds to my point about Google... and I totally agree with you all... Google has "Pricked" 100 times while these new search engines have only "Pricked" 2 times.... therefore we would all rather use their service... as one WebPro Veteran, Sonnie, said, "Definitely would go for the experience though." Once again, I totally agree with you all.. Oh!!!... and I don't mind being a "Newbie". I understand WebPro World's Ranking system, It "Ranks" you by how many posts you have done... not how long you've been in... I've never had a problem with that.. I don't see why you all are taking what I said as a complain.. I was merely trying to use my situation to my advantage to make a point to that one Member, TrafficProducer, who was complaining about Google winning the award for best search engine... by saying, "Once again the BIG search engines win... What about smaller engines???" I was trying to bring a different point of view to the conversation, As MVP Steven Glover clearly cracked on me by quoting me earlier in this posting "Alright that'll be enough out of my mouth for today!! ha ha!" Oh!.. and to MVP Steven Glover, Sorry Eye did knot yoos spel check...

No Crack intended sorry if you took it that way. I just thought the irony of your post contents coupled with the number of posts you had actually made at the time of your post was funny.

I am actually very glad you are posting its very enjoyable to have differing opinions as long as everyone realizes thats just what they are and not personal attacks. I think the diversity of our group is the lif blood of this forum.

Personally, if they are taking my blood pressure, they better be using an inflateable cuff and a stethoscope, not a needle ;o)

This is a good forum. We can always work out our misunderstandings, usually with humour once we know each other a bit, but always learning in the process.

    Sledgeharvey, where ya been?
That was an excellent way to make your point, we have many creative people here and I hope you keep posting regularily. Steven, sonnie, and I will be in the ale parlour and welcome all. Mat (a regular), they serve Ice-beer, Tubby, we are keeping your seat for you. ;o>
Babies don't need a vacation, but I still see them at the beach... it pisses me off! I'll go over to a little baby and say 'What are you doing here? You haven't worked a day in your life!'
