Getting Relevant Links From PR0 Sites, Are They help?

I just read some tips from Google site and they advice that to increase website ranking, try to get high-quality site links.

I'm currently getting backlinks from related PR0 to 1 websites and PR0 to 1 don't seem to be read as quality sites by Google. So are they help boost ranking?

First think about what it means to get relevant links. If your selling cars on your website, it would sense to get links from blogs and other websites that discuss the cars your selling. Those are the kind of links that can help convert the traffic from the links into sales and leads for you. This is what Google means (from where ever you read it).

I recommend to never get links based on the PR of the page, EVER!

Additionally I would recommend to watch out if a site has a grey PR bar.

Agreed. Now we are talking about websites that are not even indexed in Google. You can check this in other ways besides the Google Foolbar.

I think Google PR Shouldn't be avoided because I have read the following from Google:

    - Google said they want quality websites to rank on their search result.

    - Google explains that high-quality sites receive higher PR.

    - They said getting high-quality sites will improve your ranking.

I also agree that you should avoid getting links based on PR. Everyone seems to only worry about how getting links will boost their SE rankings but this should not be the only consideration. Of course getting a boost is desired but you should also consider whether that link can drive qualified traffic to your site. I am sometimes amazed at the how many visitors and conversions I see from sites that link to me. If you think a site would bring you qualified users by all means attempt to get a link and if you get a boost in the SE's you get another nice benefit.

    Please help!

My most productive sales page has a goo-bar rating of 0 (white 0, not grey), buried on directory down on a PR2 domain. It is relevant to a specific search and still comes up 1st in googledom for that search. Other google-dissed pages on that site also pick up very relevant searches.

According to the big G, I have hundreds of links coming into that domain, and hundreds of indexed pages on that domain, but on the last update, they kept my domain at a PR2 and gave no love to subdirectories.

Meanwhile the related free hosted blog on blogger gets a 4, but doesn't get a fraction of the traffic. Other domains seem to jump to a four very easilly. Question: Do you think that niche has anything to do with how easy it is to increase PR? i.e. would a competitive topic be harder to get a higher ranking for? Don't yell at me. It's just a thought.

Google will not give that domain any PR love, but they are sending traffic to specific pages (not tons, but good traffic).

I have a headache. Does anybody have any advice or Advil? I guess my dilemna is do I stay up nights trying to get Google to send me PR love, or should I just keep producing content? Or do I have to do everything. Oh G! (get it - G for Google - LOL).
