Let me make sure I understand what you are saying and correct me if I am wrong.

You have a page that does very well in terms of sales and is showing up number 1 in Google for a relevant search term but the PR is not that high? Is that right?

If so why are you worried about toolbar PR? You are getting good converting traffic and that should be your primary concern. Would you rather have a high PR site that gets no rankings in the SERPS and does not convert? I know what I would choose. Keep doing what ou are doing and ignore the toolbar PR.

Well, what I am seeing on my site is that relevance wins over PR. Thanks.

If the links are relevant, than definitely go for them, regardless of what PR they have. Primary reason being, you don't know what PR they will end up having. The link you get from a PR5 could end up being a PR2 after the next PR update. The PR0 that you get today could end up a PR4 after the next update. You never know what the PR will be, but you will know that there is a relevant link to your site... ;)

"Relevant" links is the key. By the way, PR has little to do with SERP ranking. Just do a random Google search and observe for yourself how PR2< sites regularly end up topping PR4> sites.

The most important consideration of all is that PR is only Google relevant anyway. Yes Google is a Net heavyweight, but Yahoo and MSN are great sources of traffic too. PR fixation won't get you anywhere with those other SEs. Relevant links will...
