    Submitting To Inktomi

Hello all. How is your day going thus far? I hope well.

My question is submitting your site for immediate indexing (48-72) a worthwhile investment?

I have always done it in the past and it was good for 'tweaking' Web pages because you don't have to wait months to see how you did.

Other than that is it worth while? Will it help in the long run? And is it true that they will only index the submitted page and not follow links to inner pages?

I submitted one site via Trellian a long time ago but Slurp is all over my site now! Could this be from Slurp following other links to my interior pages?

Any help will be deeply appreciated!

Slurp has been a busy little bot for the past couple of months, perhaps with the objective of getting the Inktomi database upgraded to nearly the same sizea as Google and ATW.

I suspect that they are following links, probably starting with links from the sites in the undex and then going after the new ones it finds.

Since it is much easier to get your pages indexed in Inktomi these days, I would only submit to PFI those pages which I wanted to tweak often.
