    Butterball's TurkeyTalk PodCasts

Yesterday I almost set our office here at iEntry on fire with a microwave popcorn bag; just imagine what I could do to a turkey.

Luckily for me, and others like myself, Butterball's 26-year-old TurkeyTalk helpline is now available on iPod's PodCast, iTunes, and at Butterball.com.

Tips for preparing Thanksgiving food, among other things, are being aired on PodCast in six episodes weekly.

Butterball has very cleverly put its TurkeyTalk helpline on PodCast and iTunes to reach the college demographic, who are the next generation of turkey-cookers.

“The consumers that are actually podcasting are the ones that are either now, or will in the next few years, start cooking our turkeys. A lot of them are first time turkey preparers, so we wanted to help them and we thought podcasts would be the way,” says Toni Kackert, marketing manager for Butterball.

I myself am going to attempt to cook a Thanksgiving turkey this year. No word yet if Butterball's TurkeyTalk PodCasts have any episodes on how to extinguish a Thanksgiving fire.

I'm sorry Autumn, but I had to laugh. While the cat(s) are away the mice will play. :)

Turkeys are quite big compared to popcorn and shouldn't really be cooked in a microwave.

I'm trying to think of whats worse: "Oh dear I've burnt the house down" or "oh dear everyone has food poisoning"

    Peta

Whoever thought this topic might emerge here? If you accept everything Peta says as gospel, you'll be doing yourself an incredible disfavor. They put the "SPIN" on things as much as any political organization...perhaps more. There are many other Humane Rights organizations that are a good bit more reality based with which to align yourself.

No, it was taken down because it was irrelevant to the point of the article :)

A deep thought by Jack Handy...

One Thanksgiving my parents did something I don't know if I can ever forgive them for. We were eating our turkey dinner when suddenly I realized I hadn't seen my pet turkey all day. 'Where's Mister Gobble?' I asked. Dad seemed confused. 'Mister Gobble?' 'Yes,' I said. 'My turkey. The one I picked out at the supermarket, and then after he thawed out I made him do a funny little turkey dance. Mister Gobble.' Dad's silence said it all. We were eating Mister Gobble! I ran crying from the table and locked myself in my room. Later, Dad knocked on the door and said he had some dessert for me. When I opened the door, I couldn't believe it. It was a slice of Pumpkie, my pet pie!
Glad you guys didn't burn the house down :P
