    Is football america's new passtime...

I coach Little League Football and Baseball. I love both sports and have a son who is very good at both. However in my mind Football is now America's "passtime." It is the ultimate team sport. The tailgating, gathering at a bar to down some wings and a few beers. Look at Kentucky football for example. A bad program with a great following. Fans come from all over just to meet up, tailgate, and watch the game win or lose. The work that goes into a game from off season preperation to game week prep is second to none. As a little league coach I also encourage you parents out there to get your kids involved in a great game that teaches discipline and hard work. Baseball is a great sport, but it falls a bit short to Saturdays and Sundays in the fall!

    Without a doubt, yes.

Check out these links for an idea of team valuation for each of the main sports leagues (not including hockey or soccer):

    Forbes: NFL Team Valuation
Forbes: The NBA's Most Valuable Teams
    Forbes: The Business of Baseball

While a few of the richest baseball teams eskew my comparison, on the whole, football is a much bigger draw in America. It's amazing when you remember that a baseball team plays 162 regular-season games, and a basketball team plays 82 regular-season games, whereas a football team only plays 16.

Tickets are not phenominally more expensive at football games, nor are the concessions. People are just more passionate about football than the other popular sports.

I will be a little suspicious to an admin that loves American Football :-)

Why not basketball? Do the USA have any competition there? I think any US university team can beat the Norwegian national team.
