    Hosting Recommendation

I know this may not be the appropriate place to enter this question, but I did a search on hosting and found your posting. Can you recommend a good host for me? Currently, I use iPowerWeb, which is ok, but doesn't support ASP. I need SQL, PHP, ASP, FrontPage (not mandatory, but helpful) and e-commerce.

    Thanks,
    Candy

This is in reply to admin35.

Like you, I was in need of a host that handled ASP, PHP, MySql, etc. and after searching diligently, I found one.

The owner's name is Dan and I've now been with him since 1998, so his track record is lengthy. I have no affiliation with him aside from being a truly satisfied client. If you decide to go with them, tell'em 'knightyme-productions' sent you and he'll treat you like a family member (I've sent him enough business, he better) ; )

    Good luck!

Candy, you might also review Eric's site www.tekadvantage.com if you want the option of multiple accounts. Excellent service with open & honest responses to any questions. (Joyful Ventures - very happy client, hosting several accounts myself.)

    Hosting Recommendation

Thanks for your responses. I looked at both sites and both are appealing. I really like the extra features that tekAdvantage had, like b2, search engine submission, forums and message boards, etc. However, it didn't show if they support Dreamweaver and Flash, which are apps that I plan on working with in the near future. Best Host 1 supports them, but they don't have the extra features. I'll keep looking and if I don't find one with all, I'll have to decide what I need and want the most.

    Thanks again!

    A New Host

One host that I have examined for slightly over a month now is "ipowerweb." Their price/transfer bandwidth/web space combination is good but I have encountered and reported many problems associated with their new "vdeck" system.

I would appreciate your counsel when you have decided upon an alternative to "ipowerweb."

    web host recomendation

I use and recommend www.dreamhost.com to all my clients. Unlimited mySQL databases, unlimited free sub domains, and yes, they support flash and dreamweaver. My experience with their customer service has been great. Their packages start at $9.95/month.

Yes ~ Both Flash & Dreamweaver are supported.

note: If you can start out with a smaller account than the tekAdvantage minimum, let me know. I have extra space available for small biz, hobby, etc - Start smaller & move up when you're ready. send me a PM for details.

I use ipowerweb. I couldn't beat the price and bandwidth. I don't know how all hosts work, but I was previously with Avid Hosting and with maybe 5000 people entering my store a month, I was chewing up my 3 gigs of bandwidth fast, and had to purchase more. I started searching for a host and ipowerweb's 30 gig bandwidth for $7.95/month sold me. The funny thing is...I now get 10,000 visitors a month but I never even use one gig. Tells me something was wrong at my previous host.

Ipowerweb has been easy to work with. Their tech support is average, not great. I seem to have a lot of people trying to hack into my email all the time. I wish I could control this aspect better and get a little better advice from Ipower. Overall, I can't really complain.
