    Terrorist plot foiled

We are waking up in the UK with news of 18 arrests overnight of 'British Nationals' who had plotted to smuggle explosives onto Trans Atlantic flights with the intention of causing 'in flight explosions'all our Airports are on 'critical standby'with extreme limitations on hand luggage being allowed on board.
What sickens me is the expression 'British Nationals' no doubt young men who have been educated within our system, who have enjoyed our society and culture and yet have been corrupted by extremists into not only taking their own lives in a futile attempt to further their cause but to witness young children all around them setting off for the adventure of a lifetime and young married couples setting out on their honeymoons having planned their lives together. But to sit amongst them, assemble a explosive devise and detonate it, knowing the outcome of panic, disbelief and knowing the ultimate outcome. Bastards each and everyone of them.

I just saw that on the front page of all the news websites.

I'm glad they were caught so they can spend all their days in jail, like the criminals they are.

Hear, hear the both of you.

What is most annoying about cases like this, is when the Human Rights people step in and start moaning on behalf of these (*coughes*) individuals. If they had been successful in their efforts, would the focus be on their victims who have had their human rights taken away?

Does anyone have a tin opener for this can of worms?? Ah no need, theres a ring-pull.

I do not know what makes people do such things. There must be something wrong with them and / or society.

Very glad we have not seen it in Norway yet. There has been tendenices in our neighbour country, Sweden. A prime and a foreign minister murdered on the street.

Very good that they were caught. I think England has handled it very good. I remember a speech by Tony Blair, where he said that terrorists should not succeed in destroying the open life in London. They should not.

I really think people like these are brain washed...or hypnotised... scarey stuff!

no idea how to resolve the deeper issue..more securty is not the prevention...we need something deeper that will stop these individuals from starting off in the first place.

The latest we have heard over here is as many as 120 arrests.

Let's hope they round them all up.

Hypnotising someone to do something this misanthropic is an improbability. There has to, first, be an inclination to such attrocities, consciously and subcosciously. You can not hypnotis someone to go against their own conscious beliefs and morals. Brainwashing takes an investment of time and energy. These attempted attacks are planned but, I don't believe the attackers are patiently waiting for someone to finish their brainwashing regimen.

These people are going to act upon THEIR beliefs, whether we agree with them or not. THEY are the only ones who can make the choice. You can blame society for "creating" these creatures of madness and, you can blame inadequate up-bringing. But, it is a combination of the two. Where do you start making changes when it is all aspects of our social selves? You can't fight fire by blowing on it.

Even if they do not accomplish their ultimate goal they still acheive the basic goal - terrorism. These psychosomatic megalomaniacs terrorize the general population, force their beliefs on us, and control our lives. We become prisoners to their reality.

Okay, that's enough of the soap box. However, I am of the belief that the punishment should fit the crime. An eye for an eye. (With adequate proof that is) It would be great to see criminals be punished for their crimes instead of receiving cable TV, free room and board, and a new wardrobe yearly. I don't know about the yearly wardrobe part, that could just be wishful thinking on my part.

They've named all the suspects today and the youngest is just 17.

    That is just disturbing. >:(
