PHP website problems, urgent help needed

    Hi,

I've been working on a client's website with regards to search engine optimisation, but in the process i've managed to mess up the coding somehow. I've uploaded over the original files, and my backups are in a mess. I'm not familiar with php language at all, and i'm not sure what i've done (exept ruined it).

I didn't design the site (i've just come on board for the seo, and contacting the designer is proving a dead end so far)

The website is here - http://www.beadsofparadise.com.au

A page (to go by) that still has its original content and colours is http://www.beadsofparadise.com.au/products.php

The how to order, contact us and about us are all run off the same index1.php page. I'd changed some text on the file and then everything started to go wrong for me... the more I looked into it, the worse I did.

The links are the main problem - i've wiped out some code i think when I was working on it (not sure what or where). A real lack of sleep and not concentrating...I don't know what i've done.

Can someone please help me out with rectifying my wrongs. I seem to be getting muddled up with everything I try to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated....

    Cheers
    Istaur

    Hello Istaur,

    You have just added "
" tags before and after the navigation bar. Just remove those 2 "
" tags and your problem will be solved.

Thanks for the help guys, much appreciated. That's fixed my design problem, but i'm still in a pickle with the php side of things.

I'd inadvertantly downloaded the html pages of the site (without thinking through my browser, not via ftp), and uploaded those html pages over the php pages that were there - wiping out the php code. That's why i'm not getting the right content appearing on the 'about us' and 'how to order' pages - as they are referring to the content on the 'contact us' page. The gallery links have also died as a result.

I've overwritten the backup of the original php coded pages...by accident, so I don't have any other backups, and I can't track down the designer of the original content yet - who i'm hoping has backups that I can use. But until then, i'm stuck with the site not working right.

Is there any way I can find the right bit of code again (from what's left) so the pages link properly one more?

You can contact the webhost to see if they have a backup on their hard drive. Ofcourse, this assumes the host does do backups. And if they do, it might already be too late, as last nights backup may have over-written it. You should contact the host asap

I finally got a hold of the designer and the issue was fixed with a fresh backup.

    Thanks for the help.
