That's because:

1- It's not free unless you let them advertise on your content.
1a- Even if you pay, they still put their logo on the search

2- Google's algo is better than it used to be, but it still sucks.

3- More and more people are boycotting Google for moral reasons, like their attacks on privacy, their aiding China in the evil they do etc.
