Help with a logo to be designed!

Hi everyone,

I am having trouble deciding on what kind of logo to design for my Dad's website.

The website I am trying to come up with a logo for is www.auzform.com.au

It is a horse racing website so I was thinking something like a horse head or a lucky horse shoe.... but are these things just TOO obvious for a horse racing site?

I had one image I created for a logo, but my Dad thinks it isn't striking enough.. I tend to agree a bit, but I need suggestions for something to put instead... I'm not much of a graphic designer.. I just give it my best shot :D

A great piece of software which you may find helpful would be The Logo Creator, I have version 3 and 4 installed. Although it has a lot of templates etc you can just design your own and the fonts that is carries in nothing short of impressive, using not only your system fonts but a wide range designed by them.

My logo is designed using Logo Creator.
