Domain Renewal

I have a host of domains up for renewal . Now I'm getting smarter about SEO I wondered if there was merit in renewing for longer than 1 year as I have always done.

Someone said it would help me but is that a myth?

My experience tells me that this is currently still a myth. Have seen lots of well established websites, renewed in the last days before expiring by their owners... doing constantly great, no slowdowns.

But this may change in the future, though.

Do you know the latest info re the above (i.e. the longer you renew a domain for the better it is considered by G) ?

I had read somewhere that renewing domains for a long time (i.e. 4+ years) is advised for SEO reasons over 1 or 2 year renewals.

I do not know if it helps but some of my domains are renewed for 5 years. But I do have some good ranking for them. Personally, I think that it is more on quality articles content than relating to the age of domains.

This is a good question and I did not think about this before. If any fellows in this forum had some positive experience after renewing your domains for a longer period, please share with us and we will appreciate it.
