    NO ARCHIVE: ?

I have recently started a new seo job and the company meta tag structure has a no archive tag in it. When i asked my workmates no one can remember why its there!!

Can anyone tell me if adding a no archive meta tag is a good thing or a bad thing?

I would suggest NOT using it. All it can do is raise the wrong kind of eyebrows at Google.

I've got through 5 1/2 years without ever using it.

The only meta tags I have ever needed for a standard web page are Content Language, Content Type and (these ones are debatable) keywords, description and robots.
