    Hello,

We need some critical feedback on the use of Macromedia Flash in presenting video. I know there are a lot of sites using Flash for intros to their sites, but is anyone using Flash for delivering video?

Please critique the flash video on our site. What is the appropriate transfer speed for Flash Video? When do you compromise the quality of the picture verse smooth playback?

    Any feedback would be appreciated.

    site review

When I tried to view the video:
    1) bottom menu of links was partially cut off
    2) it said "please wait for video to load" but had a little green arrow lit...wasn't sure if I should click on arrow...so didn't for a while, then when nothing happened I did, and still nothing happened.
Not sure how long one needs to wait, but I don't usually have problems with flash...I do have the macromedial flash player. If there is something you could put on there to show one it's still actively loading or give a time frame? I'm just a non-technical observer, so maybe someone else knows what the glitches are.

    firesidebks,

    Thanks for the feedback.

    1) What browser are you using? I had thought that I covered IE, Netscape, and Operia, but I guess I must have missed something. The footer should not be cut off.

    2) Yes, the video automatically loads and will show a the green 'play' arrow. If you click the arrow and turn the color to grey it will stop the playing.

What type of connection to you have? DSL? Cable? Dial-up? If you have a slow connection it may take some time.

Excellent input! We will have to incorporate a loading indicator like '...' to the first welcome screen you see when the movie is loaded. Did the welcome screen show with the 'TravelRapidly' logo?

    Thanks for your help.
