I too am an underwear fan, I wouldn't leave home without it.
However this is a bit of an odd site - basically trying to sell underwear through affilaite sites. It uses a wiki and ends up looking like a sort of porno site for Mormons...
I agree with Paul it's a bit strange.
As far as the design goes I would add a little bit to the header maybe a picture, logo and some type of background.
It is also lacking on information and text.
I agree that it is strange, but what's wrong with strange? People eat chocolate-covered crickets...that's a lot stranger than underwear.
A few things to consider:
- Link Exchanges. Find odd websites and blogs that would have the same target audience and load your home page with links to their sites. Not only will this bring traffic in (provided they link to you as well), but it will make your site look more justifyable.
- Make a Logo and put it in the header. This will give your site an identity and a personality.
- Interaction. Put something like a poll or a big snippet from one of the threads in the forum right on the main page, above the table with the pastel colored headers. This is the best way to really get your site to take off.
- Stick with one accent color. The pastels take too much attention away from the informational text. If differentiation is compromised, use varying shades of the same basic color.
