    Dumb Question?

I created a 100 page commission junction affilate based site, cut and paste by hand, awhile back. I have since gotten a 9-5 job & don't have the time to keep the links current. I am wondering if there is a way to make this URL htpp://www.cj.com/expired.jsp?---> something custom?
    Thanks for your input!

Sorry, but I'm not quite sure what you mean.

However, if you are looking for an easier way to manage the banners, you might try some kind of banner rotation script. Such as phpAdsNew

    Explain

I have several merchants that have expired within commission junction. When a visitor to my site clicks on one of these products from an expired merchant they are sent to a page on commission junction that says "this merchant is no longer a member of CJ...yada, yada,...sorry for the inconvenience." I'm wondering if there is a way that anytime someone would be sent to this URL, they would instead be redirected to a custom page that I created?
    Know what I mean?

I think it would have to work from CJ's side. How would the script know if the merchant was expired or not.

If the link is from a expired merchant does CJ redirect to the same "Sorry Expired" page?

All in all, it would be best if you keep up the links anyway for the sake of conversions.

You would need to write a script that through a cron job would periodically look through your site for external links, follow them, and if it redirects to the expired.jsp page, remove the link.

That level of automation would be tricky/costly to implement but a semi-auto way would be pretty easy.

    1. manually make a list of all external links and store it on your server.

    2. write a script or have one written that goes through that list every day at midnight and checks where they go. The ones that are good are stored under a good variable. The ones that are bad get stored to a bad variable. When it's done with the original list it overwrites it with the good links and emails you the list of the bad ones.

    3. You manually remove/edit the webpages with the expired links.
