    HTML Containers for Flash Site

I am having trouble getting my flashsite to work when I upload to my host. Everything seems to work fine on my c://localost/apache...etc. Everything is loaded into my FTP host folders. When I try the site in a browser online...nada. How do I make sure the HTML code is correct or the .swf is being called.

    Thanks,

    Hi jondeaux,

    Welcome to WebProWorld !

What would really help is alink to your file or web page.

The first thing that comes to mind is to make sure the flash file is being called like ../../file instead of c:/www/file The latter would work locally only, whereas the former would work for both locally and live(your web space)

    Flash .swf

Do I need to have the .swf file in an "image folder" or htdocs folder, for the *.HTML file to load the .swf from. Similiar to the HREF in html, with the <embed src="thefile.swf.

    Thanks,
    DByrd

I am trying to dredge up something from my memory and just can't seem to get there, but it seems as though there was some reason to place it in the same folder as the HTML doc.

Correct me if I am wrong.

You do not need to place it in the same folder, make sure that the folder and file structure is the same both on your local and remote site. Remember to upload all the flash files not just the SWF.

TRy it again and see if it works, also make sure you are placing all the files in the correct root folders on the remote server.

I had this problem but once I figured out where I was meant to keep it it was ok
