I would say your pages lack internal linking.
http://www.bridgesltd.co.uk/skills.htm - it doesnt have any relevant links on that page except the menu.

Also your page headings are enclosed between [b] tags, they should be between <h1> tags.

Plus? what are the keywords you are targetting? I can't see the term (control panel manufacturers) anywhere on the pages...

    Are internal links that vital?
what would you suggest... links back to the products page... anything else?

    Links

    Bart0r,

looks like your inbound links are thin on the ground. I found some recognised by Yahoo. For an explanation of why the engines differ see this brief overview:

Something that is not discussed as much in this forum, compared to other forums.

I believe it is a duplicate content filter.

You have at least 3 versions of the same page

Control Panel Manufacturers - Bridges Electrical Engineers

Control Panel Manufacturers - Bridges Electrical Engineers

Control Panel Manufacturers - Bridges Electrical Engineers

All 3 versions have PR of 3, which tells me Google knows all 3 exist.

Unfortunatly Google, treats these 3 pages as differents URLs and because they have the same content, normally would impose a duplicate content filter.

It is true you need more links too, but if you have a number one on Yahoo and no-where in Google, I would guess it is the filter that is preventing the results.

I went from not being in the first 1000 results in Goole to second page, when I fixed this issue on my site. I had been at number one on MSN and Yahoo for some time before that.

The solution is a rewrite, situated within your .htaccess file. To send all your 3 versions to just one version.

I know how to do this, but not at a level to explain to others. I always seem to get my descriptive words wrong and someone more knowledgeble, seems to remind me about this fact.

So to get it right first time, i suggest your search for .htaccess information and rewrites non www, to www etc.

As to which version you should send all versions to. I choose the www version, but others think this is a directoty of non www. (i.e.Control Panel Manufacturers - Bridges Electrical Engineers) and that is better for SEO.

    Its up to you

    Hope this helps

    1. You dont have any text on the home page for "control panel manufacturers". So really the only SEO on the home page for "control panel manufacturers" is the title tag.

    2. You need more back links with the anchor text "control panel manufacturers".

    3. Google algo is different than Yahoo and Ask.

Don't rely too much on DMOZ it takes 6 months to years before you are included or not they will not list you because DMOZ have many editors....

By the way build more links.... quality links link submitting to quality directories, blogging, forum sigs and more...
