    Beware of Academia Research

I just want to caution fellow writers to be careful in dealing with www.academia-research.com who claims to have the following address. Academia-Research, Inc. Empire State Building, 350 5th Ave, New York, NY 10118 USA. Surprisingly, they dont have a telephone number while being in New York.

They owe me several hundred dollars.

Thumbs down Re: Beware of Academia Research

I have been writing for this company several months and I agree. I can't seem to get paid in a timely fashion, though they tell you that you will be paid on the 25th and the 10th. I have yet to see my money for the 10th and last month it took a week longer than they said. I would like to know where they are. Their phone number (that seems bogus) has a 617 area code that says Boston.

It seems that the problem is because a person made a complaint over a 1-2 page $10 article. This is a NEW article and has nothing to do with what I've already done.

I would have such a problem with them if they would answer your emails. They are a very unprofessional company. I am not owed lots but it's over $200. I have no way of knowing if I will receive the money.

They want you to work, but they don't want to pay.

Thanks for that, As a writer I did try and sign up to them, I submitted samples of my work and recieved no response. Upon emailng them I had no reply. I can only assume that they have taken my samples and used them.

    Re: Beware of Academia Research

Actually, I have been working with Academia-research for several months now. In the beginning, I had problems with getting paid but now they pay me regularly. I have acheived Premium Status with them and am very happy with them now.

I have seen this before on other threads and I don't think it is true. For as many people who complain about them, there are probably many who say they are good. This happens with any of these services.

In the beginning I struggled with getting paid but kept leaving emails to them. If they didnt' answer, I left the email in client spaces and they eventually got back to me. So, I believe they area legitimate place for good writers.
