We're trying to understand the implication relative to linking strategies and organic search results between two formats of the URI that we want to create for individual users of our site.

Format 1: http://www.sonicswap.com/username
or
Format 2: http://username.sonicswap.com

We have a preference for format 2 but we're concerned with how search engines and sites that independently measure traffic might look at the two alternatives.

Any thoughts?
