    Totally new to flash

This is my first attempt at a flash page. It is setup secondary to my main page. I just got a used copy of Macromedia MX about two weeks ago and had never done anything with flash before then... so here goes... be kind.

Just something I'm playing around with in my spare time. Hope I didn't take up to much of anyone's time.

Good work for a first try.
You are well on your way to developing some great techniques in Flash Animation.
If you are looking for some easy to follow but great tutorials, check out http://www.kirpua.com.

He has from beginning to advanced tuts on his site.

Good luck with it and keep up the good work.

I got a few comments about "Spiderman" on the last try, and that is not what I was going for, so back at it again. It's not done yet, and I am going to make a duplicate of it in .html before I post it to my main domain, but here is my next try at a flash site.

Comment welcome, always open to suggestions.

    Thanks for your time

P.S. I'm still lost working on "something" for a logo... all I can seem to draw on that, is a blank.

comments: choose your fonts wisely, and size of fonts,
try to merge your flash with the rest(make it blend in)
Questions: you design it first in Photoshop or illustrator or start right away in flash?

    Keep it up!

That is done start to finish in flash. I'm "ok" in photoshop and illustrator, but as far as creating from scratch, I'm more comfortable creating in flash. Even the logos I'm working on (in the logo forum) are done all in flash.

I am thinking about instead of having the text fade in on clickrelease, having steel doors open to show the text, but the fade was easier for now.

As far as fonts, that is something that I've just not had the best judgement on. I like Garamond myself, but no many people do. I thought the Monotype Corsiva font was easier to read. Arial is just a little drab for me, but is easy to read also. If you have any suggestions as far as a different type of font, I'm always open to them.

Thanks for the comments, hopefully I can work on it more later today, but my plate is kinda full right now.

Ok... what I have so far, is my flash site is now at http://www.fracomweb.com/index.html and my html site is http://www.fracomweb.com/htmlindex.html . My question is this. I was wanting to make move my flash page to flashindex.html and make a seperate index page that would either give the browser an option to go with the flash or the html page... or have a script there that will determin if the browswer has flash installed... I'm just not sure if there is a script like this and if so, how I'd do it. Since I am new to flash, I was wondering if someone out there could point me in the direction of what is standard when running duel sites like this.

    Thanks Bunches

mpact this seems to be a general search engine page. Is there a page on this site you are referring to or we we just to do a general search and view the sponsored listings. Just curious, is this your site?
