    Opinion Request: 1cent/visitor

    I'm on the way to start a new affiliation program. I would welcome your opinion:

    1) The payment is based on the number of visitors you bring per month
    2) The payment is rounded to the closest inferior integer and 100 visitors are payed $1 (USD)
    3) Visitors brought one month are *not* reported to the next month
    4) All payments will go via PayPal
    5) Play fair (no spam, no flood, ...)
    6) To start the program, just insert a link like that:
    http://www.milliondollarscreenshot.com/?aff=your_email
    where your_email is your email address, modified to avoid spam (replace '.' by '_' and '@' by '_at_')
    7) I have the final word to decide how many visitors you brought (I use WebSTAT and Google Analytics)
    8) I can stop (or restart) the program at the first day of the month. You will be informed before.
    9) I can change the price at the first day of the month. You will be informed before.

    Exemple of email:
    peter.burner@domain.com -> peter_burner_at_domain_com

    Exemple of payment:
    Visitors in November
    58 -> $0
    117 -> $1
    264 -> $2

    What do you think of this program? How would you improve it? Is it the kind of program you would subscribe?

    Thanks, S.

    I don't understand why anyone would even be interested, sorry.

    Thanks for the reply. I'm not sure to understand your answer. IMHO, most webmasters are going to affiliation to make money. Nothing else. So I think some people can be interested because it is quite easy to bring 100 people to my website.

    Now, if you're commenting the interest of the website (or for the customers), this is a totaly different topic. Not to be discussed in this thread but I would be pleased to discuss it in another thread.

    I'm a bit surprised there is no comment yet. Why is this offer not attractive?
    I'm really interested because I will launch this program very soon. The Million Dollar Screenshot is a self-selling product. Just put a link and many people will click. So please list the reasons why you wouldn't not participate.

    Could you explain why?
    That would help.

    This would work for someone who has hundreds or thousands of daily visitors. It would be hard for most people to get enough clicks to generate a significant amount of income. Those with sites popular enough to make larger amounts probably don't need this sort of affiliation.
    Your examples of $1 or $2 aren't helping you to convince anyone, either. ;)

    What do you call a significant income in this case? IMHO, it is quite easy to make 100 people a day to click. That would mean 25-35$ a month. I was not only thinking of webmasters but also of people subscribed to a mailing list or participating to a forum. Just changing their signature to include the link.

    Sure. They are already running AdSense and other banners. Instead I'm targeting blogs, forums, mailing lists and community websites.

    Ok. Let's say it differently
    "Your site is viewed by an average of 273 visitors a day. Sure 25% will click on the link. 2115 clicks for the month, 21$."
    "You are an active member of your online community. Apply the business plan:
    1) Set your signature with the link
    2) ???
    3) Profit!"
    What's your opinion?
    Regards, S.

    This still does not make ANY sense to me. What is the product? Where is the value?

    What would people even put in the link? "Click here so I make money!" "Donate your clicks here - if I send enough clicks I MIGHT make $25 this month!"

    Why would users want to even click? Sorry still do not get it.

    Product: traffic (one visitor)
    Value: one cent (rounded to the inferior hundred)
    Rate conversion: 100%
    (I understand you're looking at it as a traditional program. This is not. Maybe I may set one later: product: icon ad, price: $100)

    They may put what ever they want but "The Million Dollar Screenshot" works very well.

    Because of the buzz, because they are curious. When they first encounter such a link, a lot of them will click. In fact, many people are searching for such pages. You should give it a try: you just put the link The Million Dollar Screenshot in a page for a few hours (enough for 100 users to see it) and you will see by yourself how many people click. You can count the clicks yourself (redirect) or check the stats directly on my site. My estimate is between 5% and 10%, sometimes more depending on the type of website.
    Regards, S.
