How do i get my link popularity up on yahoo

i m posting this topic on the google forum coz the ppl on yahoo dont bother to respond to mails. Can anyone tell me what subscription i have to pay to get a paid listing on yahoo and also if it would help if i do so. I was going through their website and their payment scheme is something like 40$ for 1 year as well as 0.30$ per click as my website is related to gifts.The 0.30$ per click is really not feasible for me as i get a lot of ppl visiting my website who are just looking for curios.Can anyone tell me what to do.

ppc is not joining their directory. They charged me $299 for a year, and that was three years ago.

They also will review your business before allowing you in. THe link still shows up, so i assume it was worth it for me.

Don't pay for listing with Yahoo. It won't get favourable treatment.

Just optimise your meta tags and content. A few links will see you climbing the yahoo rankings.

To get your link pop up on Yahoo, you'll just need to get links. here is a good place to start.

What you were referencing is their paid inclusion model. Yes, it is indeed base charge + CPC. It doesn't do anything for your rankings, but rather just gives you faster inclusion through a distinct crawler. There is no way we could afford to pay for all of the clicks we get from Yahoo.

If you just want to rank in Yahoo, then get some links, optimize your content and metas as dburdon suggested and start climbing the ladder.

If you want to increase your link popularity on Yahoo or anywhere - you need more links.

If you want to get a high position in Yahoo serps I would go for a Yahoo directory listing if I were you. My directory listing is number 1-2 on yahoo for all my most competitive keywords see here

yet my site listing is way down at number 12. Its getting better as my SEO gets better but the Yahoo directory listing has been in that position since the start - 2 years ago.

It costs me £200 odd GBP annually but I place NO ppc on Overture and get top listings on Yahoo - whats cheaper? A years ppc costs and all the attendant hassle or a one off payment to Yahoo?

Buy a directory listing on Yahoo and spend your time worrying about Google natural listings where the business is.

I know this is a controversial view on this forum where most people only write to knock the search engines but I make good business from them and I am in the top 5 for ALL my competitive keywords on Yahoo, MSN AND Google.

Then again, what do I know?
