    sound on a website

    not sure what it's for exactly as asking for a friend, but what sort of file would you reccommend for using music and sound on a website - .wav or MP3 or somethng else?

    In past we used windows .wma simply because it is so widely supported and the bit rates are low, so they take less downloading. I think they also have the ability to be streamed also.

    If it was music; like internet radio then you could use shoutcast by winamp. http://www.shoutcast.com/ but the visitor would need winamp to hear the radio.
