Copying Adwords Campaigns to another Adwords account

    Hey guys,
The title says it all! I am looking to promote another site on Google Adwords which will use the same infrastructure, ads (Except for URL) and keywords as one that I am allready promoting !

Is there a tool available that I can use to export my existing campaigns and import them to a new Adwords account ?

    Thanks for your help,

    Sam

    adwords copier

    Hi Sam,

As far as I know, no such tool exists yet. We're developing a suite of adwords tools at the moment, though, and this is one of the first tools planned to be released. It seems like there is a demand for it.

Some searching through the AdWords Help pages may give you some tips. More than likely, though, you'll have only a Cut and Paste process to work with. You can, for instance, copy one set of keywords to another campaign easily enough via the Edit Keywords command.
Nevertheless, I do think you need to be concerned about two clients having the same AdWords -- as I suspect Google will be. Unless (and this is a little hard to imagine) they're each operating in entirely different fields, neither of them is going to pleased to see that visitors can chosoe to click on the competitor's ad instead of theirs. For example, I don't see how you could get away with duplicating a campaign for both Ford and Chrysler, do you? (Or perhaps I should say Renault and Puegeot.)

Thanks for this Duncan, the peugeot and renault does make more sense for me :-P ! I understand what you mean about the competition, in the long run, I will have to change the ad text but to begin with I beleive it would be good to test with the existing ad.

My only concern with the copy and paste is down to the fact that Adwords has session ID and as a consequence I cannot log into two adwords account at the same time, unless i'm missing something here...

Anyway thanks for your help guys and if you have further insight it would be greatly appreciated,

    Thanks,

    Sam

Sam, I'm sure you're right about being unable to sign in to two accounts at the same time.
However, you could take one more step. Just cut and paste keywords/whatever from one campaign to a Word file and then cut and paste the text to the other campaign. This will also allow you to modify things between the two campaigns via the Search and Replace command.

Nicely spotted ! The search & Replace is very good idea ! Thanks for this !

Last question if it's not asking to much ! Transferring from Adwords to Adwords seems to be difficult but what about from Adwords to Overture ? Could this be an easier task by any chance ?

Thanks for all your help guys,

    Sam

Sam, in that I don't use Overture, I'm not sure of the answer. However the copying to and fro via a Word file should work whatever the end destination.
As for AdWords versus Overture, the consensus (and I've deferred to it) seems to be that AdWords is the better choice if you're selling something, while Overture is more geared to non-commercial promotions.
