Check out my site and let me know what you think. I am new to web design and actually this is my first attempt without any education or training in it, hopefully it does not show too much. All of your opinions are important.

    Thank you.

    Good job

The site is designed nicely. The navigation is simple and the products are displayed well. I personally would have centered the table to avoid the large white space on the right side of the screen. Other than that, the site seems to serve its purpose well. I would recomend looking into eventually building your own shopping cart as it will appear more professional. Overall Well Done!

    Centering table

How would I be able to center my table to avoid the issue with the amount of space at the bottom? Also, how could I fix the layout, so that there isn't a white trim, similar to a frame, but instead just have the yellow coloring in the spoken extended area?

    Thank you,
    Mike

    Aloha from Hawaii,
I am going to give first impression comments about the site following the format that is recommended here. Afterwards, I will look at the site more in-depth to see what other impressions/comments come to mind.

    · Speed of download - Since I use a T1 line, I can't really comment on the speed, unless of course it opened slow, but don't worry, it opened up right away. However, it does say it opens in 17 seconds using a 56K modem when I do a speed test on the site.
    · Colors - I actually like the color scheme, though basic, I don't think you need anymore than you have.
    · Fonts - I always like the use of basic fonts like yours, especially on an e-commerce website.
    · Layout - Is clean, however as stated, you could center the tables.
    · Text – Straightforward and to the point, didn't take any guessing as to what your online business is about.
    · Navigation – Very user friendly.

    Mike,

You can get rid of the white space around your yellow frame by adding this to your BODY tag...

    topmargin="0" rightmargin="0" leftmargin="0" bottommargin="0" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0"

Your site looks pretty good. You need to work on your search engine positioning now. Start with your page titles because they are very important to search engines. Get rid of Welcome to BrightLightCandles.com and use keyword rich titles for your pages (e.g., Candles and Candle Accessories)

In the body of the page, add some content that tells about your products, ways to use them, special features, etc. Be sure to use your keywords in your text. Introduce new paragraphs with short, keyword rich titles. Emphasise these titles by making them bold or HTML headings (H2, H3).

If you need some guidance, type some keywords into Google and see what your top ranked competitors have done. Don't copy their stuff, but use their sites as examples to set up your pages.

Good luck with your site. You are off to a very good start.
