    political correctness...?

This may not be a new thing but I only just heard it - apparently we can no longer use the phrase 'brain storming' as some may find it offensive. The new politically correct term is 'thought shouting' or 'mind showering'.

Maybe I am being very ignorant here, but who does the phrase 'brain storming' offend?

Does anyone else think this is a little extreme? They've already massacred baa baa black sheep -what next?!

Brainstorming or just a quick "thought shower"?

I had heard of this a little while back, although I didn't think it would ever be implemented! The Observer website ran a short article on the subject on Jun 26th.

The argument seems to be that people with brain 'disorders' such as sufferers of epilepsy, etc might be offended by the use of the word. I agree with your sentiments pagetta, this is political correctness going too far.

I get so tired of this stuff. I used to work in a place that would tell me I could not say this or that. BS. Sometimes you have to say something the only way you know how and if that is not what is correct than why get bent over shape about it.

So this would be a bad time to suggest they all sit down and enjoy an 80s Peter Gabriel video?

Those that create these type of "concerns" should be thankful that they are oblivious to the world's real problems - like, isn't putting braille on drive up ATMs asking for more trouble than using a term like brain-storming?

    Too Funny!

This kinda hits home with me... most of you don't know this but I was a Jr. exec for a large multi-conglomerate. (I was mad as hell about this at the time it happened) I was "asked" to take 3 days off for telling a pushy waitress that my name was Mr.Moorhead, but she could call me Cravin ;) Well she was a dumb blonde and didn't get it for 3 days! But since she knew where I worked she figured she could get a cash lump sum for turning me in for sexual harassment! My attorney jumped all over this and I was "asked" to come back to work 2 days later.

But it just goes to show you how the liberal left has nothing better to do than persecute free speech! I do have another website that most of you probably don't know about... Crack head lighters - Pushing the politically correct envelope just a little further!
Where I didn't hessitate to SELL out of my "Michael Jackson molested me and all I got was this lousy t shirt!" And coming soon ... "Paris Hilton puttin the HO back in HOtel"

I say to hell with political correctness (as you can see ;) *sorry for the rant... this subject touches a nerve with me ;)
