    google bot - msn bot - yahoo bot

    I'm wondering if its wise to put instructions in the meta information for all three bots , at present im just deluding myself that im instructing google but at what cost to the others , any ideas?

    Only if...

    You only need those if you want to exclude a page from being indexed. Otherwise it is redundant. If you want it excluded, then yes you need to tell all the bots the same thing.
