    Who's using openoffice?

I just spent 45 seconds downloading the latest version of openoffice, and once again it took longer to install something that it does to download. Even so, under 5 mintues later I had the Excel file opened that someone sent me.

I've been impressed with OpenOffice, but I didn't remember SUN having their hands all over it like they do now. Did I just forget it from the last install I did or is that recent?

I don't know about the history of OO, but I did use the previous version. It worked great. I had to wipe my system due to unrelated stuff and haven't reinstalled it. It did take a while to install though.

    Hello Brian,

as a linux user since 2000 I always found in the professional linux suites I bought the most recent versions of open office.

If I remember well it was staroffice in 2000 and become open office a little later. Always been of Sun I think anyway.
