    Browser named Firebird?

    Had a visitor show up in the stats from the Netherlands using Firebird 0.6.1

    Never heard of this browser before. Can anyone clue me in?

    Only one visit does not worry me, just courious.

    It was the name of an early version of Firefox before it became Firefox

    Firebird vs. Firefox ... sounds like a cartoon war... or maybe the creators thought people might confuse it with the car...

    Well, if Firebird is an email client then someone spent 19+ minutes browsing my site from the Netherlands using their email client.

    How the hell do you do that?

    Are you sure it just wasn't the referrer url that showed Firebird? I've had lots of return visitors sent over from emails I sent them (at their request, of course), such as Yahoo mail (i.e.: us.f312.mail.yahoo....).

    That does sound a bit weird unless the mail client has a framed area where you can browse web pages inside the mail view... i've heard of such things but never seen 'em...

    Isn't that Thunderbird, not Firebird.

    I just doubled checked, and it is Firebird v0.6.1 It shows as a browser.

    Thanks guys, for all the info. You guys are really up on all the latest versions of everything!

    Firebird - thunderbird firefox

    Well firebird is an earlier version of firefox and the email client by mozilla is thunderbird.
