    Question re Robots Instruction

    Can someone give me a read on what this instruction does?

    <!--webbot bot="Navigation" S-Type="banner" S-Rendering="graphics" S-Orientation
    B-Include-Home B-Include-Up U-Page S-Target -->

    A comment...

    Since it is a comment, they're either using that for a bot they run themselves or they just thought it looked cool. Either way, it's not going to do anything in the search engines.

    I think it's a FrontPage created include code. Maybe a FP forum member could assist.

    Regardless of whether it was created/generated by FP, DW, or other, it is simply a comment tag to assist a designer.

    What it will do though, is convolute your html (unnecessary words indexed throwing off your content relevancy) when crawled by bots and add size and hence load time to your file; if it's no longer needed from a design aspect, remove it.

    If it looks like a comment tag, smells like a comment tag, and even tastes like a comment tag, it's definitely a comment tag - not code.
