    Virtual Billboard - acreativefactory.com/test_vanwagner

this is the first page (only) of a large website for
Van Wagner...a global leader in outdoor advertising.

I am currently debugging the Flash applet & shaving file size
as the download is too right now long for dialup in my estimation----

I am very interested in learning how it downloads on your machines...

The site looks very nice, but there is no alternative (non-flash) page, alienating a majority of the audience.

Additionally, there is no clear statement as to the purpose of the site, and makes looking around a bit confusing.

other then that, nice flash work.

Intro takes far too long to load. And although controlled by client, the "What outdoor advertising should be" tagline is a meaningless platitude.

And the intro opens up onto, guess what, another intro. This one is a little better. The navigation, blending in with the image as it does, qualifies as mystery meat.

At the least, eliminate one of the intros.

Do they do the creative or just placement? I've been through two, long, page loads and still don't know this. ...Or anything else. But wait. "Our clients are rich people who, as everyone knows, all have broadband." Yes, but why get broadband? To not have to wait for pages to load. My suggestion is to treat dialup loads of 15 seconds as the outside maximum broadband load.

The site is a tribute to clever at the expense of usability or the slightest scrap of information. Ad agencies love this stuff, as witnessed by the Clios. The trouble is, as one study I read about shows, is a large percentage of agencies lose the client within months of winning this award for ad creativity. Why? Sales didn't go in the right direction.
