Like to collect form information online to Access DB.

We've got a site - http://www.halcyonholidaycottages.co.uk . On this site there is a booking form ( http://www.halcyonholidaycottages.co.uk/booking.htm ) which visitors use to request information re booking a certain cottage for a certain period of time.

We use an Access DB in the office which needs to stay as it is very easy to manage for a small business such as ours.

How can I get info from the booking form into the database so I don't lose valuable contact information without having to type it all in by hand?

    Can anyone help please?

    Regards,
    Darren.

You could place the database online, and have the form add records to it automatically - but if you're just looking for a quick fix you can set the form up to send the information to a text file, and in Access, on the File Menu, select Get External Data, and then Import. Change the file type to Text, and then select your text file.

You may have to play around with it a bit in order to get the data imported into the proper fields, but it's not difficult.

    Good luck!

Active Server Pages (ASP) will provide your answer. ASP was created by Microsoft to interact with Access/SQL Server databases (among many other useful things).

www.asp101.com will help get you started on learning the language, but it will take a while. I don't think you'll find a quick fix unless you hire someone who knows ASP well.

Ok, thanks a lot guys, I'll check out both avenues of approach and see which suits me best. I've dabbles a long time back with a little asp, but I admit to knowing virtually zero about it now. The text file import seems to be the other end of the scale, requiring much less know-how on my part. Looks like if i want to avoid some work inputting, I've got to put some work in, coding!!
Cheers m'dears! (that's UK for Cheers buddy!?)
