When I try to view source on web pages, [often]nothing happens. Some pages / sites work, some don't.
I have tried EVERYTHING to be able to view source properly. The times when the page source doesn't pop up, I get the little 'globe' icon in the bottom right hand side of the screen. I double click on it and then I get "Internet Security Properties".
I have tried turning EVERY security feature {{{OFF}}}.. I have turned every other option {{{ON}}}, but still I can't view source (most of the time).
As a matter of fact, this isn't the only problem I am having. I'm experiencing a LOT of other security related problems, where IE / Windows is dictating what I can and can't do and to be quite truthful it's really starting to piss me off. But that's another story.
I am not far away from reinstalling 98.
So does anyone know what settings there are that would stop someone from doing something as SIMPLE as viewing source? I have NO idea why there would be a setting which can toggle a "view source security setting", but apparently there is.
I think Microsoft is starting to add options for "this and that" instead of fixing security issues at the root. That way they can say "Oh, well you had that setting on (or off) ..silly!
But all these "just in case" settings are making things really hard to use.
People don't want to know about all this crap. All people (like me) want to do is VIEW SOURCE. If that can be a security issue THEN FIX IT. I don't want to know about it.
..anyway, so.. how can I view source. I'm starting to get aggravated. It's been weeks, and I'm sick of opening firefox just so I can view source. I need to use IE because it has all the plugins that I use (some that I have paid for) and although firefox I good, it doesn't support much in the way of plugins.
MrLeN
P.S. I've uninstalled all the plugins and "RESET" all IE options to default. Still, I can't view source. I've wasted days (all up) trying to solve this problem over the last few weeks.
