To Domain Or Not To Domain - That Is The Question

    Morning all :)

My two webpage "Laser Eye Surgery" webpage is growing in traffic and Adsense revenue.

Now, I come an executive decision making time - do I purchase a domain, create dozens of more pages, (thus making it into a website of it's own), or do I keep it within the sub-domain where my blog lives, and just create the pages there?

The page(s) do quite well for various laser eye surgery terms.

So, would there be any advantages to me moving this laser eye surgery page(s) to it's own domain - or should I leave it where it is?

A digital Shakespearian question with a Detroit answer.

Don't fix what's aint broke. If you still ask yourself but what if - Then by all means do ahead and domain an own site as well. You might have to start from scratch with links and stuff but at least you have your domain - your own home forever - no matter who hosts or whatever would happen to your other site. Now you get to do the fun part - playing creative word games and coming up with a fantastic domain name. Good luck.

If you do decide to get your own domain, besure to do a 301 redirect which will tell search engines that your site has moved somewhere else.

Yes thanks Josh for that advice.

I still don't know exactly how to do a 301 re-direct, as the domain I have my Laser Eye Surgery pages in does not belong to me,so I presume I have to contact the webmaster for him to do something about it? Or does the host of the new domain have to do something - or do both of them?

Yes, I wouldn't want to lose any traffic either, as traffic has just increased due to some changes I made recently, and the old Google Adsense is beginning to pay dividends! ;)
