One of my advertisers went from 35 to 1,230 for a while yesterday, then dropped back to 35 this morning. The three sites I watch closely vary throughout the day. One in particular varies in a very reliable way: one count in the morning, one in the afternoon, and a third count which you get about 1/3 of the time no matter when during the day you check.

I'm seeing 4 different results on different datacenters. Something is going on for sure.

I'm seeing a higher BL count on 10 of the 34 DCs using McDars tool.

Oddly, it's the same exact number of BLs that I had before the New Year's eve update.

I haven't looked at the make of those BLs yet.

Google keep on judging your backlinks using their "link-dampening filter" .

Credit to your good genuine backlink is always there in a defined time frame .Fast result can not be seen .

How do you get that tool to give you a count? Could you send the URL. The one I think you are talking about just shows the links, and you have to flip through them, which is not practical if you have very many links.

Be patient and give it about 2 full minutes to return results.
