american directory links for uk site

Is it worth my while listing our site in free US based directories if our company is solely a UK service? Obviously it will help build the link campaign, but with regards to traffic it will not have much impact.

    Any thoughts?

Propably it is not good for your direct sales, but this strategy will increase your link popularity and pagerank in the search engines.

That means that even if you will not get advantage direct from the visitors from the directories, but you will get a better exposure in the search engines

The link popularity will help your site as long as as they have good anchor text. SE's see a link as a link, it doesn't matter where the website or server is at, so get links from wherever you can.
