How many WebPros does it take to change a light bulb?

How many WebPros does it take to change a light bulb?

1 to change the light bulb and to post that the light bulb has been changed
14 to share similar experiences of changing light bulbs and how the light bulb could have been changed differently
7 to caution about the dangers of changing light bulbs
1 to close thread and move it to the Lighting section
2 to argue then move it to the Electrical section
7 to point out spelling/grammar errors in posts about changing light bulbs
5 to flame the spell checking posters
    3 to correct spelling/grammar flames
6 to argue over whether it's "lightbulb" or "light bulb"
2 industry professionals to inform the group that the proper term is "lamp"
15 know-it-alls who claim they were in the industry, and that "light bulb" is perfectly correct
19 to post that this forum is not about light bulbs and to please take this discussion to a lightbulb forum
11 to defend the posting to this forum saying that we all use light bulbs and therefore the posts are relevant to this forum
36 to debate which method of changing light bulbs is superior, where to buy the best light bulbs, what brand of light bulbs work best for this technique and what brands are faulty
7 to post URL's where one can see examples of different light bulbs
4 to post that the URL's were posted incorrectly and then post the corrected URL's
3 to post about links they found from the URL's that are relevant to this group which makes light bulbs relevant to this group
1 to say no light bulb links allowed
13 to link all posts to date, quote them in their entirety including all headers and signatures
    14 to add "Me too"
5 to post to the group that they will no longer post because they cannot handle the light bulb controversy
4 to say "didn't we go through this already a short time ago?"
13 to say "do a Google search on light bulbs before posting questions about light bulbs"
1 forum lurker to respond to the original post 6 months from now and start it all over again.

I found this on another forum and while WebProWorld is the most well managed forum I visit, with great mods and contributors, I think anyone who visits forums alot will get some laughs with this one.

    Excellent!

Can't find fault with a single one of those! I'd have to add one though:

1 to point out that the threads have to be standard or it won't go in correctly.

    Gosh, I bet that'd be me. :)

    Maybe 'normal' forums

Speaking as one of the senior research techs of the 'break from reality' room
(including: Paulhiles - CEO; rocky1 - background compilation and forensics expert; mikmik- quality control and ca-ca disturbing; topic provision - wenwilder and matauri(big role to fill); senior analyst and ca-ca disturbing, - minstrel)
I wish to point out that the evidence shows that we at WPW Break Room are an unusual lot, and not subject to standardized generalizations!
We are a tight knit group who are entirely concerned with one another's well being, and as is shown here, quite contrary to the mundanities of typical horse flogging, we:
1.) voice our concerns over whether certain members are alright and have enough jello for them and their puppy to eat,
2.) discuss the supernatural element surrounding the presense and involvement of ghosts, jello ghosts, jello with EEG's= to man's, and such
3.) whether or not somebody else will see to the repair, but not just anybody, SUPREME BEINGS!

You guys that are moderating really should leave the lights on in the chatroom however, so folks can see if anyone's there! We might have surpassed chatroom traffic here on this thread, were it not for everyone standing around in the dark asking if anyone's home in the chatroom! Of course come to think of it, maybe Wen got locked in there for a day or two with the lights off, and that's why she's had these delusions of Jello, and Ghosts, and lack of gravity, and time standing still and such! You might want to make a point of checking before you lock them chatroom doors at night from now on Minstrel.

Some of the Chat Room conversations definitely show signs of sensory deprivation ... so maybe you've got a point there, Rocky! :c) I don't even know how they get in and out... I've been standing in this hallway for the past few weeks, and I haven't seen a soul come in or out of that room.. beats me how they're getting in!! :c)

I did overhear that the Supreme Beings have plans for changing the Chat Room... not sure whether this includes the provision of electric light! - don't quote me on this! ;-)

However, Catalyst, I got a good laugh and see myself described about four times in your example - which is entirely too close to the truth!
Babies don't need a vacation, but I still see them at the beach... it pisses me off! I'll go over to a little baby and say 'What are you doing here? You haven't worked a day in your life!'

    Missed one there catalyst!

1 - insulate techy to argue computers don't have light bulbs they're LEDs!

I would otherwise concur fully with Mik's stated position, since he stated it so well. And, again commend you on posting it. Laughed through the whole thing, as I put names and faces to the lines therein!

It was funny you should point out the thread issue too Narasinha, I once heard vicious rumors that when Cape Canaveral, (now Cape Kennedy), was being built; they had so many light bulbs walk out of the place, that they changed every fixture on site to left hand threads. It was also rumored that there were a great many grumpy tavern owners in the local community, when they traded those for after hours refreshments!

    OK I have to...
Having been a Theatrical Lighting Designer for 6 years, then in the residential lighting industry for about 10 years...I'd like to point out the the BULB is the glass part. The entire structure is the LAMP.

Having said that in my house the procedure for changing it starts out with..."son...change the damn bulb!"

    Speaking of light bulbs,,,

I have been assuming that most of you have already heard this one, but just in case:

Q: How many psychologists does it take to change a light bulb?
A: Only one - but it has to really WANT to change...
