Oh no, Brian, you are about to get inundated !

But can I ask, as a non-GMail person, is it really worthwhile? What are the advantages of GMail? ... and disadvantages?

    I've invited before

I've invited people to PM me before like this and never get a response, so I'm not overly concerned at this point.

As for worth it, I dunno. It's lost the novelty of "Google gave me an email address". Their notifier is nice (sits in your system tray on a windows system). The search for email and contacts is starting to be useful to me. I can many times remember part of a conversation, but not all of it, so the search is sort of handy.

The main thing I like at the moment is the "Conversational view". Replies get stacked up under the original message instead of having 20 "Re: Subject: messages that all look the same. I don't really care about the 1GB of storage, although it is nice having more than 10MB on a free account.

I suppose that it's definately worth the price, but nothing that anyone needs to get so pumped up about that they are buying one. They'll be available publicly soon enough from the rumors I've heard.

I've been using gmail for a while and its growing on me. Along with desktop and picasa it suits my chaotic filing system.
