the true way to find Quality Back Links in google

    this is true?

why do these two searches on google have the same number of links?

    link:http://www.aboveallhouseplans.com

    related:www.aboveallhouseplans.com/

why are the links in a different order?

are they both the same links?

do I not now just perform the same search on my competitor and then back link to his back links in order of appearance?

Obtaining links from the same sites/pages that link to your competitors is a fundamental SEO tactic that should always be followed. I wouldn't be too concerned with 'related' links.

Many feel that *all* links are valuable. I agree.

Keep in mind that finding your competitor's backlinks is so basic (and popular) that Google has changed the response to their link command. There was a day when all (or most) links where displayed. Now, my guess is that only about 10% are displayed. And, those that are, tend to be mostly the junk links (forums, blog comments, etc).

    dont agree

tcampione- Not sure I agree that only the junk links are displayed. I seem to get a pretty good mix of high value and low value links when I check backlinks.
But you are right about all links count no matter how poor. Even if you dont get much PR from poor links you still get link context in the link text and you get more opportunities for your content to be spidered the more links you have.

Just as an aside. if you want to mirror your competitors links then google is not a good place to find out where these links are. yahoo or msn are usually better at displaying a more complete set of your backlinks.

Google counts all the links to you, but only shows a few.

    link counting

I agree with cspelts, nobody said google doesnt count all the back links, but its pretty well accepted that they only display a small selection. This probably cuts down on the processing power they need to deliver and the information they need to hold in primary serps table for each website.
