    Search Engine Submission

I purchased a site submission for 1 yr. for around $750.00 to have my site submitted to over 500,000 search engines through websquash technologys. I was wondering if anyone thinks I paid to much, they also created a logo, and a few custom banners, the site has not been optimized yet, I have to wait on a few tags but was just wondering what you guys thought, is that too high? I guess the site is supposed to get higher rankings, just wanted an opinion, thanks.

Is there anything else I can do to get more hits to the forum? I am using phpbb fully modded, thanks.

No need to pay for website submissions. If you have a few links to your site search engines spiders will find you. I could not even name 500,000 search engines...only a few matter really.

Can't comment on the logo and banners, but if the optimization is only a 'few tags', then it looks like you have spent quite a lot of money for not much in return.

Well we all make mistakes $750 is quite a large one though. Go to profile add your Signature (URL)then take your site to View my site and run it through all the tests then let us know how you got on.

    Welcome

    Hi,

You can go to http://www.AddMe.com and sign yourself up with about 12 search engines for free, or pay them $29.95 to submit your site to 1,500 search engines and announce sites once, or $49.95 to have them submit your site once a month for a year.

For future reference, when someone wants to reach into your wallet, make a posting like this first. It will save you a lot of money.

    Have Fun,
    Jeff

Next time... Next time when you decide to spend some money on a vacation with the wind, just ask here before you make the transaction. It won't take you more than a minute but can save you somehudnred greens.

Well thanks for the input guys, I don't feel I have been scammed though. They did create a custom logo for my company, 4 banner ads, a detailed submission which is huge, and my ranking are already way up on the bigger sites, so far I am getting 100x the activity and the site was just submitted a few days ago.

Congrats on the new traffic, but you've learned an important lesson. For the newbies - get a few inbound links and the engines will find you. Don't waste your moolah!

Well the site was optimized, its a forum, alot of the bots and spiders haven't started crawling because they said it takes 5-45 days for them to index, but i've seen some google bots, msnbot so far. Any good ways for a forum to get these bots/spiders to really crawl around real good i have a knowledge base with all kinds of keywords or will they just find them all on there own?
