We put in a request to provide news content to Google News, and received an email reply that our URL's had to have a four number combination somewhere in the URL of the news stories (making it unique). We've never had a problem with the regular Google bots crawling and indexing our site, so this is a new twist to me.

If this is a problem unique to the news bot, then I can change our links, but if we have to change all the links in our site, we'll be at it for weeks.

If anyone else has had experience with the Google News bot, can you let me know about this numbers in URL thing.

I'd email back to Google, however it took a week to get the first answer, and I've always received some good responses from everyone here, so I'm trying this first.
