    Security researcher to be jailed for finding bugs in softwar

    I was reading this artical in ZDNET Secuirty News
    and it makes me wonder what happend to freedom of speach or is copyright law gone mad or perhaps it is just one over zelious company jumping in the deep end?

    or do you think i'm barking up the wrong tree?

    I can understand why the company is prosecuting (4 month jail term and a fine is not the worst he can get)....IF he would have sent the software company the information instead of publishing it on a website, I think they would have been happier. It's a race to find exploits - the software company against the hackers/virus writers, but the question is, just who was he trying to help? And why?
