    Canadian Temperature Guide

    50° Fahrenheit (10° C)
    Californians shiver uncontrollably.
    Canadians plant gardens.

    35° Fahrenheit (1.6° C)
    Italian cars won't start.
    Canadians drive with the windows down.

    32° Fahrenheit (0° C)
    American water freezes.
    Canadian water gets thicker.

    0° Fahrenheit (-17.9° C)
    New York City landlords finally turn on the heat.
    Canadians have the last barbecue of the season.

    -60° Fahrenheit (-51° C)
    Mt. St. Helens freezes.
    Canadians Girl Guides sell cookies door to door.

    -100° Fahrenheit (-73° C)
    Santa Claus abandons the North Pole.
    Ottawa canal opens for skating.

    -173° Fahrenheit (-114° C)
    Ethyl alcohol freezes.
    Canadians get grumpy when they can't thaw the keg.

    Absolute zero: all atomic motion stops.
    Canadians start saying, "Cold, eh?".

    Coz they manage to get it into ANY conversation!!

    They have this little time frame happening over there...

    3 months spent talking about whether the Leafs or The Sens are gonna be the team to watch that year.

    4 months spent blow harding about which IS proving to be the better team

    2 months braggin about takin the cup away from the US & reminding them that they invented hockey after all!

    3 months bagging their own teams, the refs, and anyone else who could remotely have had anything to do with Canada not winning the Cup ;-)

    12 months boasting that Wayne Gretzky is a Canadian! :-)

    Sweet, eh?

    And we also have baseball and football (not the crappy Canadian version - NFL!).

    Whereas, in Oz they have.... err... hmmm... rugby and croc thumping? well, I guess soccer when they get tired of watching grass grow in the outback... oh and also basketball! no wait... wrong continent... well, rugby and croc thumping anyway... :-)

    Oh! and beer (by which they mean anything wet and alcoholic, like ale...)
