What do you think about the changes to the forum?

If you found a feature (old or new) that you particularly like or dislike, let me know...

What, no RSS or XML feeds :o) ? It would save time. Members could subscribe and would only have to drop by when they find posts or news they want to post to. Would save the buisy guru's and business professionals time, and possibly encourage them to watch the forum more closely. Would also allow them headlines to scan before dropping by only to find nothing they feel a need to post on. For the research side, it wouldn't change things at all as members and visitors would continue to visit and search the board for their topic. Overall, could cut down on overused server resources and encourage more posting. Just a thought. Hopefully I haven't missed a link that already has this feature :o), but searching around has shown nothing to indicate that RSS or XML feeds are an option. Could also be used by members to post WebProWorld/WebProNews feeds from their sites, further encouraging member sign-ups.

Thanks Mike, that's cool, but you know us busy webmaster types, we're always looking for more :o). Now, if there were some SEPERATED RSS/XML feeds from each forum area, we could sort things out better, and only find the stuff we are insterested in instead of having to wade through all the latest posts. Yes, with this RSS feed, it saves the time of switching between forums to find the latest posts, but this way lumps ALL the forums together. Independent feeds would sort things out, and those wanting to keep tabs on multiple forums could just subscribe to additional feeds. Or did I miss the link for this feature too? Hate to be a pain, just trying to work smarter instead of harder, and having this type of tool would make it easier to devote time to posting and answering questions as the reader can gather all the posts while I do something else, and then when I am taking a break, or waiting on something else, I can than jump into the reader and see what's new. Just an idea.

Separated feeds are something I want too, this one seems to take too long due to it's size (which is why I hadn't linked it yet). I do plan to tinker with it a bit more in the future. To this point however, there have been more 'fundamental' fish to fry.

To be honest, I was more concerned about keeping the forum data intact in this move. Now that I'm fairly satisfied that I'm beyond the point of some catastrophic breakdown or bug I can get into some of the detail stuff I wanted.

I'll get to it, just a matter of time.
