Google SEO Myths and Relevance Mess

    Google Myths
    -------------

Browsing through the internet for SEO techniques I discovered terrible advice and things that were just plain lies about achieving the highest pagerank. Now really, if they post this stuff as "basic SEO knowledge" for improving a site, do you think google doesn't know? These are SEO techniques that I believe to be fake:

"Use invisible text but make it close - colors like 00FF33 & 00FF66 are both browser safe, but are so close most humans can't tell the difference. Even though Google has over 50 Phds on staff - none of them probably know this - so use it - the bottom of the page is a good place-"
--Google makes it very clear not to hide text, this is just stupid and a good way to get your site banned.

Use H1 Tags for your entire page (except the title and other header information). You can use CSS Style sheets to make them look smaller and Google will give you bookoo points for having everything so big on the page (even though it doesn't look big to the user).
-- What the heck... I think this is just rediculous.

    tapgoogle article

Here's one from Yahoo I thought I might add--
Yahoo! determines the popularity of a website by the amount of time a visitor spends on your website. If a large no. of them hit the "back button" of their browser as soon as they hit your web site, you can kiss goodbye to your dreams of a possible higher listing.
    from Yahoo article

-- If this were true I would go to my competitors websites, select their link and hold down enter all day making a bunch of requests for the site that would give under a second for the time.

    Google Mess
    -------------
My sites are a prime example of how Google relevance is setup.

    1st Example:
Search Jimmy on google or yahoo. If it hasn't changed(it will soon, just updated keywords)...
You'll see my site Elite Skills in the number 3 spot.
I have already update the keywords so it'll change but it's ridiculous. I'm beating sites with Jimmy
in the URL and title such as jimmyeatsworld the jimmydean jimmy carter jimmysoftware canaljimmy etc.
(thought it was fun beating all those people just by searching my first name, it doesn't give me any hits)
So the best SEO technique for google is simply keywords and use of keywords in the text.

    2nd Example:
Search "Download Chrono Trigger" on google. Click view source for that nasty mess of a site. There is all
kinds of illegal SEO techniques but it still holds #1 in placement.

Just out of curiosity, what was the PageRank of these pages? PR0?

    Pagerank

    forgot to add...(from the articles)
google does not keep adding pagerank points infinitly because your pages are interconnected and linking dots isn't the best approach.

    In response...
Elite Skills is around 5 while the other is probably like 2. The page rank for the article I showed is pretty high and is linked in various pages.

Apparently they aren't taking their own advice...
