Hello From Fredericksburg, Texas

Hi everyone! I am a partner for One-Der Bar Soap & Shea in the Texas Hill Country (Fredericksburg). Like many others, I am befuddled by search engine optimization, and hope to spend some time here to get even 1/2 a clue.

My number 1 beef with the current search engines is that they seem to rank sites with prime search phrases very highly, even though the relevancy seems low and the author of the page/site has not intended the site to be ranked highly (i.e.: news articles, dissertations and class papers, etc.)

My number 2 beef, is that sites tend to get a huge number of pages within their sites ranked highly on one prime search phrase. Hopefully with the leadership and guidance offered here, I can learn a few of the ropes for our little ecommerce site and my wife's law firm site! Best wishes, and it's great to be here!
